Calvary Baptist Church began in 1972 in a small strip mall located about five miles from our present location. This building still exist, it is on 15th St. between the intersection of 26th Ave. and R&K Enterprises. The church was founded by Tommy Colvin, under his ministry the church purchased the old Garywood Assembly of God building located on Old Warrior River road right behind were Garywood Assembly is presently located. During the early nineties the church begin to grow and needed a larger facility. With not enough land to expand we began to pray and seek another location. In 1995 we sold the old building, purchased the land where we are today, moved into the concord community center, and begin to build this building. We moved into the building in February of 1996. Since it’s beginning the church has had five pastors, Tommy Colvin, Dee Ogletree, Billy Denton, Roger Reach, and Jimmy King (since 1991).
From its incorporation until today, Calvary Baptist Church continues to serve Jesus Christ and the community faithfully. We invite you to come and be the difference, see the miracle!
